Welcome to the Dental Practitioners' Publication Scheme as required by the Freedom of Information Act 2000. This is a guide to the Dental Practitioners who practice together within the practice.
Introduction
This publication scheme is a complete guide to information routinely made available to the public by the Dental Practitioners. It describes the information about our Dental Practitioners and Practice which we make publicly available. It will be reviewed at regular intervals and we will monitor its effectiveness.

The publications are all free unless otherwise indicated within each Class (with £). Where information is provided at a cost the charges will be calculated as set out in Class 7
How is the information made available?
Information is made available in hard copy. For further information please contact the Practice Manager who will be pleased to receive your questions, comments and complaints. Petra Jones will make best endeavours to supply all information requested in hard copy within 7 working days.
Your rights to information
- In addition to accessing the information identified in the Publication Scheme, you are entitled to request information about Senova Dental Studios under the NHS Openness Code 1995.
- The FOI Act 2000 recognises that members of the public have the right to know how public services are organised and run, how much they cost and how decisions are made.
- From January 1 st 2005, the Act will oblige the Dental Practice to respond to requests about information that it holds, and is recorded in any format and it will create a right of access to such information. These rights are subject to some exemptions which have to be taken into consideration before deciding what information it can release.
- New environmental information regulations may be introduced as early as 2003. These will enable similar access to environmental information as under the FOI Act 2000.
- Under the Data Protection Act 1998 you are also entitled to access your dental records or any other personal information held about you and you can contact Petra Jones at Senova Dental Group, 10 Beechen Grove, Watford, Herts WD17 2AD to do this.

Classes of information
All information at Senova Dental Studios is held, retained and destroyed in accordance with NHS guidelines.
Our commitment to publish information excludes any information which can be legitimately withheld under the exemptions set out in the NHS Openness Code ofr FOI Act 2000. Where individual classes are subject to exemptions, the main reasons are e.g. the protection of commercial interests and personal information under the Data Protection Act 1998. 2. Our Services
Our opening times are Mon 09.00-19.00, Tue+Wed 08.00-17.00, Thu+Fri 08.00-14.00, Sat 9.30-14.30
Our arrangements for out of hours emergency care are to be found by dialling our telephone number and listening to the message. A mobile telephone number of one of our dentists can be found in this way.
Our premises are located on the ground floor, which allows easy access for wheelchair users.
The languages spoken in the practice are English and French.
We are able to offer sedation to our patients.
We have both a hygienist and therapists.
3. Financial and Funding Information
We can provide you with information of the cost of NHS treatment, entitlement to exemption as well as our private charges.

5. Complaints
We take every complaint seriously and make every effort never to have an unhappy patient. You may complain in person, by telephone or in writing to the Practice Manager. We will reply within 3 working days and, following investigation, we will be able to respond fully within 10 working days.
6. Our policies and procedures
General policies and procedures are in use within the practice. These include, but are not restricted to, date protection, prescribing and prescription, health and safety.
7. This Publication Scheme
In this class we will publish any changes we make to this Publication Scheme, the criteria on which our information management policies are made and a referral point for all enquiries regarding information management generally in the practice. We will also publish any proposed changes or additions to publications already available.
Cost of Information
For the most part we will only charge you for copying onto media e.g. CD ROM or requests for multiple printouts. We will let you know the cost and charges in advance.
