Senova Dental Studios reopening guide

We’ve been missing you over the last 10 weeks! Whilst we’ve been providing telephone and video consultations, we’re excited to confirm that we are reopening from 9th June to allow us time to have carried out the additional training we need to undergo in order to open safely.

All of us have been through a great deal over the past few months. Many things may have changed but one thing has remained the same: our commitment to your safety and your dental health.

You will see some changes when you next visit us to help protect you and the team.

WHO WILL WE SEE FIRST?

We are currently triaging patients to make sure emergencies and those in pain are seen first. However, we’re fortunate that the practice size allows us to see considerably more patients than other smaller dental practices, which means that more routine appointments booked from 15th June will be honoured.

If your previously booked appointment was cancelled due to COVID, please bear with us as we work through the calls to book you in – we are doing our utmost to see you all as soon as possible.

MAKING AN APPOINTMENT

Please call or email us to book an appointment. We’re anticipating our phone lines will be busy, but please do leave a message if need be and we’ll call you back asap!

BEFORE YOUR APPOINTMENT – PATIENT PRE-SCREENING

You will be sent a questionnaire to complete and be asked about COVID-19 symptoms and your risk group.

The day before the appointment we’ll call you to do a verbal pre-attendance assessment.

COMING TO THE PRACTICE

Please attend alone if possible unless you are a child or vulnerable adult.

Try not to bring any unnecessary belongings with you. Belongings will be put in a dedicated box outside each surgery.

Please attend punctually at your dedicated appointment time to avoid waiting in the practice unnecessarily. Appointments will be scheduled to allow social distancing between patients.

Visit the bathroom before coming to the practice; whilst toilet facilities are available, it would be really helpful if usage was minimised.

ON ARRIVAL AT THE PRACTICE

Your temperature will be taken (contactless). If this is not within the normal range your appointment will be rescheduled.

We will ask you to hand sanitise, pre-rinse with an anti-COVID disinfecting oral rinse and you will be given some gloves and your own face mask to wear during your visit (which can be taken home).

The team will be wearing additional PPE, but remember behind the mask, eyewear, face shield and gown are the same friendly people you have always trusted with your dental care!

Seating in the reception area has been arranged for your safety in accordance with Government guidelines – aided by our several separate waiting areas.

PAYMENTS

Payments can be made as before through the cough guard at reception. Despite the screen and enhanced PPE, (and sign saying Don’t feed the animals), you will still see our comforting, smiling faces.

TREATMENTS

Whilst initially emergencies will be prioritised, you will be able to have a full range of routine and emergency treatments.

FEES

We are pleased to confirm that our treatment costs remain the same. However, the costs relating to the enhanced PPE are significant for dentists and nurses and a COVID Surcharge will be applied to contribute to this.

The surcharge for hygienist appointments is £9 and £15 for dental appointments – with this transparently reflecting the additional costs.

However, in gratitude for your loyalty whilst we have been remotely consulting, there will be NO surcharge for those who are members of our Practice Dental Plan.

Equally as a thank you to our loyal pay per visit patients, if you would like to join the Plan to take advantage of this, our Plan payments remain the same as pre-COVID and the joining fee is waived until 31st August for those who have had hygiene appointments in the last 18 months.

We’d like to emphasise that the Surcharge is purely for additional costs and will be removed once the PPE requirements reduce. Whilst we’re aware of some practices charging up to £40 COVID surcharges, we are not making any profit from the Surcharge.
